As an adoption-informed Play Therapist who uses books and stories to help children heal, I found very few books for children reflecting the real-life experience of Kinship Adoption and the difficult road many children go through before and after being removed from their biological home.

Violet & Me is a story that helps children see themselves and their experiences and let’s them know that they are not alone and they too can heal from past trauma.
